Bidder F.A.Q.
Q. How do I become registered vendor with WCPS?
A. All vendors must follow the two step process in "Becoming a WCPS Vendor" section of the website.
Q. I am currently a registered bidder but did not receive a recent solicitation for services that my company can provide. Why?
A. There may be several reasons for this, the most common are listed below:
- Your company may not have selected the correct vendor category codes.
- Your company contact information may not be current.
- Your company registration may have lapsed (both bidders and pre-qualification applications must be renewed every three (3) years).
Please review and verify that your company's vendor registration is correct. If you have any questions, please contact the Purchasing Department at [email protected] or (301) 766-2840.
Q. Where can I find information regarding current Bid/Solicitations?
A. Current open solicitations can be found on the Bid Opportunities page. Recently received solicitation results can be found on the Bid Results page.
Q. How will I know when certain types of services/commodities will be solicited?
A. Many items/services are already under contract for a certain period of time and may be detailed on the WCPS Recurring Bid Calendar. Additionally, formal bids are advertised on eMaryland Marketplace. Maintaining an up-to-date, thorough vendor record on file is the best way to ensure notification of upcoming solicitations.
Q. Are all procurements made through a competitive bidding process?
A. No. Policies and regulations dictate the methods by which goods and services are procured. In general, procurements for goods and services with anticipated costs that exceed $25,000 will be competitively bid.
